Gabion
Gabions are wire mesh baskets compactly filled with 6g class stone properly wired together for construction of erosion control structures and to stabilse steep slopes and prevent erosion.The rock filled gabions are often used as retaining walls for highly erosive materials, bridge abutments and aprons.
Construction of this nature most typically includes mattresses in size 3x2x0.3m whicjh is a flat gabion basket used to prevent the erosion of the river bad or canal floor.
The gabions are available in wire diameter thicknesses of 3,4,5mm supplied flat packed.
Gabions are triple life rigid welded mesh cages with mesh hole size of 76x76mm.
